Ahhhh Sorry. I was going to delete everything in my packages folder, as well in my sims3packs. I have all my downloads backed up on a USB. Plus I have a buttload of more CC i want to download. Question Time again! One, after i re upload CC should I use the dashboard again? Two, if there is corrupted stuff, what do with the corrupted files on Sims 3 other folder (saved on USB)? Thanks!
Okay, I went to your page and saw you have 5,000 corrupted files, 200 conflicts, 10 duplicates. LOL what the heck did you download? So, first of all, you’d better delete EVERYTHING (both in your hard drive and USB) and start downloading from scratch. The corrupted cc was just corrupted from the beginning, not because some magical thing happened when you moved/installed them. I recommend to delete everything because it is most likely you aren’t sure which cc is safe and not.
I have a feeling that you downloaded them from unreliable sources (reads at least half of cc at TSR), and most of the downloads must be houses and sims in sim3pack format. Trust me, the furniture, makeup, clothes, and etc “conveniently” included in those houses and sims can cause troubles in the end, like your 5,000 corrupted files. So next time you download stuff, make sure you are downloading from reliable sources. Try to avoid those sim3pack files which include everything in them, unless you are really sure what you are doing.
Maybe you think those people who only link CC, not include them in their downloads make things difficult. But in my opinion they are doing right. They are responsible for what they are sharing with the public by making their downloads clean and safe. If you download cc yourself, at least you won’t have to deal with some magically appeared, and yet corrupted content that you’ve never wanted in your game.
Here is a tutorial about delphy’s dashboard:
I’ll add a bit more explanation to it. Keep in mind that there should be NO DUPLICATE in your game. ALL THE TIME. Corrupt files sucks too. It will generate the notorious blue lots or blank files. So delete them all, too. Conflict files are a bit different story. You can leave them if the conflicting cc is from the same creator. And again, disabling things won’t solve problems. Duplicates mean duplicates. Corrupted files are corrupted. Just forget about them and go hunt better cc.
P.S. I wasn’t going to write this long, but oh well. Anyway, considering the effort, I decided to publish this answer. Hope it’s okay with you. I believe this
nagging guide will be helpful for someone else too.
